Kellie Rae Theiss
Minneapolis, Minnesota
From the beginning of her interest in art, Kellie has had a passion for nature and the representations of its bounty in the paintings of both classical and modern masters.
“They are a never ending source of inspiration and technical information. On each canvas, there are libraries of information, both subjective and objective. There are many parallels to our lives in the cycles and personalities of the subjects I chose to paint. I want people to stop for a moment to marvel at the mystery of something so simple. My paintings are reminders for us to respect our world and all of its dynamics.”
Kellie began her formal education at the University of Nebraska. She taught both publicly and privately before returning to painting full time. Kellie creates in her studio at home in Minneapolis or at her cabin in Northern Minnesota from where most of her subjects have been provided.
