Jay Steinke

"I was raised near Lake Michigan. My childhood memories are filled with many adventures of explorations along its shores. My love for the Great Lakes has continued into my adult life but now my attention centers on Lake Superior. During the last 10 years, the footprints of civilization have become more evident along the shore, and I felt a strong desire to show the path to wild places is still wide open. The North Shore of Lake Superior has one of America's most magnificent shorelines. I have spent countless hours affirming this fact by exploring, and photographing, its shores, rivers and forests."
